Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate with strong experience in designing and implementing OpenShift architectures and migration strategies. In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration is essential. You should have expertise in VMware tools and technologies, such as vSphere, vCenter, and NSX, as well as hands-on experience with Pure Storage solutions like FlashArray and FlashBlade. A solid understanding of networking concepts, such as ingress, load balancing, and DNS, alongside storage solutions like persistent volumes and dynamic provisioning is required. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and ArgoCD, along with a strong comprehension of high availability, scalability, and security principles in cloud-native environments is crucial. Proven experience in workload and application migration to OpenShift or similar platforms is necessary, as well as proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Bash, Python, Ansible, and Terraform. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are a must.
Preferred qualifications include OpenShift certifications, experience with multi-cluster and hybrid cloud OpenShift deployments, familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like oTel, Grafana, and Splunk stack, knowledge of OpenShift Operators and Helm charts, and a background in large-scale migration projects.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the design, planning, and execution of OpenShift architectures and migration strategies. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Architecture Design: You will design the target architecture for OpenShift, including cluster topology, networking, and storage solutions. You'll define and implement best practices for OpenShift cluster setup, ensuring support for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
2. Migration Design and Optimization: You will assess existing infrastructure, applications, and workloads to determine migration readiness and develop detailed migration plans. Implementing migration processes while ensuring minimal downtime and mitigating associated risks will be your responsibility.
3. VMware and Pure Storage Integration Design: You will design and implement OpenShift solutions that integrate seamlessly with VMware environments, optimizing deployments with VMware tools and managing Pure Storage solutions for high-performance, scalable storage.
4. CI/CD Pipelines and DevOps Workflows: You will design and implement CI/CD pipelines tailored for the OpenShift environment and automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring processes to streamline application delivery.
5. Scalability and Security: You will ensure that both architecture and migration plans are scalable and implement security best practices. Regular security assessments and audits will be conducted to maintain compliance with organizational standards.
6. Collaboration and Documentation: Working closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams, you will align architecture and migration plans with business needs while providing detailed documentation and technical guidance on OpenShift architecture and best practices.
Description
This position is based in London, UK, with a hybrid model of working, requiring three days onsite per week. The initial contract is for six months.
