Requirements
Must:
We require a candidate with at least 7 years of experience in Data Science or Actuarial roles, ideally within the Lloyd's market. You should possess proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, along with advanced knowledge of machine learning, data science techniques, and statistical analysis. Strong programming expertise, especially in Python, is essential. Experience with the Azure data stack (such as Data Factory, Synapse, SQL, and Power BI) is a plus. A background in collaborating with data engineers, IT teams, and business leaders is also necessary. Strong academic qualifications in a relevant field, such as Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics, are important.
Responsibilities
As a Data Science Manager, I will be leading the data science function and managing a team of data scientists. I will design and deliver machine learning models that improve risk selection and decision-making. Collaborating with digital trading and actuarial teams, I will analyze portfolios and refine pricing strategies. Additionally, I will automate and enhance data pipelines using AI and ML techniques, supporting the development of strategic data assets and visualizations for our underwriters. Working closely with IT and engineering, I will integrate models into our business systems and define and maintain best practices for data science operations. Furthermore, I will contribute to governance groups and participate in model approval processes.
