Requirements
Must:
- You have advanced data engineering skills and experience, including designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable data platforms that enable key business initiatives.
- You have experience in leading technical design and architecture discussions, influencing technical strategy and decision-making.
- You possess expertise in coaching and mentoring engineers, fostering a culture of excellence within the team.
- You have expert Python coding skills combined with a thorough understanding of software engineering best practices.
- You have an in-depth understanding of data engineering principles and best practices, including data modeling, observable ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data governance.
- You have experience with AWS and tools such as Snowflake.
- You are collaborative and pragmatic with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
In the role of Principal Data Engineer, you will take a lead role in building a platform that enables a decentralized-by-design data adoption model within the business. You will define and champion technical principles and practices to drive improvements and implement a well-engineered, well-governed data platform that meets customer needs. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership and technical solution design on multiple complex initiatives. Your responsibilities will include driving continuous improvement on key metrics such as business value, cost efficiency, speed, and quality of delivery. You will also contribute to key decision-making across the Data and Machine Learning engineering space, balancing near-term commercial impact with the need to build long-term foundations.
