Requirements
Must:
- Strong, hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience
- Proven track record with Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling
- Skilled in CI/CD pipeline design and optimization
- Experience with configuration management tools (such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef)
- Strong scripting ability for automation and troubleshooting (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Practical experience with containerization (Docker, ECS, EKS)
- Background in secure or public sector environments, ideally with active clearance
- SC Cleared; NPPV3 Clearance would be a bonus
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure across core services
- Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code, preferably using Terraform
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable automated, secure deployments
- Configure and manage infrastructure with tools like Ansible, Puppet, or similar
- Work with Docker, Amazon ECS, and Amazon EKS to deliver containerized workloads
- Script and automate operational tasks
- Ensure services meet security, compliance, and performance requirements in public sector contexts
Description
We are collaborating with a consultancy partner on a new public sector engagement and are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong AWS expertise to join our team. You will play a key role in designing and implementing secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and automation pipelines while working within a highly regulated environment to deliver reliable and resilient services. This is a contract role, inside IR35, with a hybrid working arrangement that requires you to be onsite in Southampton for 2-3 days per week. We are looking for someone who can start ASAP.
