Must:
We require a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Test Lead or Analyst in customer-facing roles, preferably on SCADA or real-time control projects. You should possess strong skills in test planning, estimation, design, execution, and documentation. Proficiency in Jira and Xray (including JQL scripting for queries and reports) is essential. We are looking for strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across both technical and business domains. A solid understanding of SCADA and NMS platforms, with a preference for OSI Aspentech/DGM or similar platforms, is important. Familiarity with telemetry, control systems, and protocols/standards such as IEC101, IEC104, GI74, IEC 61850, and IEEE is also required.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will collaborate with Business SMEs to define, scope, and document the Point-to-Point test stage. You will develop and manage the Test Plan for review and approval, estimate workloads, and coordinate SME contributions within Agile (SCRUM) team structures. Additionally, you will ensure that test support requirements are captured as User Stories and tracked via Jira backlogs. Documenting tests, recording results, and storing evidence using JIRA/Xray and SharePoint will also be part of your duties. Monitoring and reporting on test coverage, progress, and outcomes, raising and managing defects in line with programme-wide defect management processes, and producing a final test outcome report for the Point-to-Point stage will be critical to your responsibilities.
Description
We are a global consultancy client supporting a major UK electricity transmission operator through a significant SCADA transformation programme. This programme involves the migration of all SCADA operations to a new standalone OSI Aspentech/DGM Monarch SCADA platform as part of our separation from the National Electricity System Operator (NESO). The new SCADA system will manage approximately 350 substations and over 700,000 sensor data points, integrating with wider enterprise systems to reduce manual handling, ensure safety, and support a more digital operation. We are seeking a Point-to-Point Test Analyst to lead a critical testing phase that ensures accurate data migration and telemetry/control functionality between the old and new systems. This role involves the simulation and validation of real-world devices using an emulator and live telemetry to ensure data integrity and control mapping remain consistent across platforms. This position is a 6-month contract and is INSIDE IR35 with a hybrid working model based in Warwick. JOB REF: 19300 ADZN1_UKTJ.
