Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and experience:
- Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Delta Lake, ADLS, Cosmos DB, and Azure SQL.
- Experience with Event Hub, Kafka, IoT Hub, and Kusto/ADX.
- Strong background in unstructured data migration and transformation.
- Knowledge of data modeling, mapping, profiling, governance, and security.
- Familiarity with governance tools such as Purview, Profisee, Informatica, and Unity Catalog.
- Proven experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform/Bicep and Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of Zero Trust architecture, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Virtual Network (VNet), Private Endpoint, and ExpressRoute.
- Experience with High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR), cost optimization, logging, monitoring, and performance tuning.
Responsibilities
As a Data Solution Architect, you will be responsible for the following:
- Architecting secure, scalable data solutions utilizing Azure, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Leading integrations across systems such as SCADA, SAP PM, telemetry, GIS, APIs, and legacy data sources.
- Governing structured and unstructured data using tools like Purview, Unity Catalog, Profisee, and Informatica.
- Implementing real-time streaming solutions with Event Hub, Kafka, IoT Hub, and Kusto/ADX.
- Designing data platforms incorporating Delta Lake, ADLS Gen2, Cosmos DB, Synapse, and Fabric OneLake.
- Leading CI/CD infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
- Defining architecture for compute, storage, security, and networking on a large scale.
- Enabling AI/ML integration pipelines and analytics layers using Power BI and Databricks ML.
- Collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders from various disciplines.
- Promoting DevSecOps, governance, resilience, and observability across the ecosystem.
Description
We are hiring two experienced Data Solution Architects to spearhead a critical cloud data transformation programme for a major UK utilities company. In this role, you will be working with petabyte-scale real-time and historical datasets from systems such as SCADA, SAP, and IoT telemetry. Your primary focus will be on delivering modern cloud-native data platforms across Azure, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric, ensuring governance and streaming capabilities at scale. This position is a hands-on architecture role, driving design, implementation, and optimization of the platform.
