Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with the following essential experience, skills, and knowledge:
- Extensive experience in a high-pressure, customer-facing IT service delivery environment, working to tight timelines agreed with operational partners.
- Knowledge and experience of the service design and transition aspects of the IT Service Management lifecycle in an operational facing IT role.
- Experience in supporting the release of new software versions and changes to IT services.
- Knowledge of IT best practices as stipulated by the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL V3.0 as a minimum).
- Experience presenting complex and potentially contentious information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with colleagues at a Senior Leadership Team level.
- Comfort in working directly with users to ensure an optimal service experience.
- Experience with ServiceNow (or similar) as the ITSM toolset is highly advantageous, though not essential.
Responsibilities
In the role of IT Service Manager, you will:
- Report directly to the Head of Service Management and be responsible for ensuring that IT Service Management policies and processes offered to Ofwat operations are consistent in approach, aligned with industry best practice standards, and support Ofwat's operational strategic goals.
- Represent Service Management in up to three specific Ofwat Directorates and their sub-teams, guiding and advising on all aspects related to IT service delivery.
- Have the opportunity to influence operational processes and improve how we deliver IT services.
