Requirements

Must:
- Proven experience of working in a networking and/or security role. - Experience managing third-party vendors. - CCNA or equivalent vendor certification. - Familiarity with recent technical developments in networking hardware and software, including software-defined networks. - Demonstrable knowledge of: - Enterprise networking - L2 / L3 concepts - High availability protocols - Next-generation firewalls - Network monitoring tools - Network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark - VPN and Remote Access - Wireless Administration

Responsibilities

- Provide networking support as part of business-as-usual activities, including port reconfiguration, fault finding, managing warranty incidents, and software upgrades. - Offer IT networking expertise on the current state of NCC's IT network infrastructure for internal and business projects, including hardware, software, licensing, and infrastructure. - Act as the technical point of contact for external suppliers regarding network-related activities, guiding and challenging them to meet NCC’s requirements effectively and efficiently. - Utilize network management systems software and analysis equipment to collect routine network load statistics, model performance, and generate improvement proposals. - Assist in resolving incidents and major incidents, while supporting network security certification and working closely with the IT Security function. - Operate within a framework of Continual Service Improvement. - Support the delivery of network and security projects, as well as business-as-usual activities, to meet IT and business priorities, including the deployment of additional switching, firewalls, and Wi-Fi solutions. - Collaborate with other IT teams and partners to deliver secure configurations for cloud and system integrations (e.g., Azure, M365). - Aid the wider team in implementing and testing IT solutions for future states, which may involve collaboration with the procurement team, supporting project documentation, or reviewing future state solutions. - Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation.
