Requirements
Must:
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with the following skills and experience:
- Advanced SQL knowledge
- Snowflake (ideally certified)
- Proficiency in Python development
- Essential AWS cloud experience related to data tooling and development
- Working knowledge of Data Build Tool (DBT), which includes:
- Developing staging, intermediate, and marts in DBT to meet analytics requirements
- Optimizing existing models to enhance reusability by adhering to DBT best practices
- Identifying opportunities for models to be incremental rather than requiring full refresh
- Organizing and documenting sources in DBT
- Developing DBT macros for frequently repeated tasks
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Development experience in one or more object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Python)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders across multiple verticals
Responsibilities
In this role, you will support our data migration to Snowflake. This will involve:
- Engaging in various aspects of the development lifecycle, including data modeling, process design, development, and testing.
- Leveraging your expertise to enhance our data processing and analytics capabilities during a critical phase of transformation.
Description
This position is remote but may require occasional travel to Hemel Hempstead. We offer a contract outside IR35 with a day rate of up to £550 for a duration of 6 months, with an immediate start date. Joining our team means being at the forefront of data engineering during our large-scale migration to Snowflake.
