Requirements
Must:
- Proven ability in creating test acquisition and control software, preferably using LabVIEW or equivalent software.
- Experience in developing automated test sequences, configuration, and calibration files.
- Familiarity with data acquisition hardware such as NI cDAQ, cRIO, PXI, or equivalents.
- Knowledge of high-speed data storage solutions like TDMS or equivalents.
- Experience with managing large channel counts, approximately 200 channels.
Responsibilities
- I will oversee the software development for fluidic testing data acquisition and control.
- I will take ownership of the test software and its ongoing development.
- I will co-engineer associated hardware and assist in the selection of test software.
- I will design the test software architecture and develop the software to facilitate:
- Automated test sequences created by users.
- Logging and displaying of acquired data at both low and high frequencies (including pressure, temperature, mass flow rates, and mass).
- Control of solenoids and process control valves.
- Serial data acquisition.
- Error handling and event logging.
- A user-friendly GUI that can be updated on a test-by-test basis.
- High-frequency data acquisition and data management at approximately 50kHz.
- Packaging the software into executable files and installers.
- Developing modular code to allow easy modifications or additions of instrumentation.
- I will validate and debug software during test commissioning, provide ongoing ad-hoc support during testing, and create user manuals and training for the test team.
- I will facilitate weekly team meetings, which may be conducted remotely.
Description
This role is based in Harwell, predominantly remote with occasional site visits. The contract duration is 6 months, with a rate of £70-£80 per hour (umbrella).
