Experience in process development is essential, as is a good grasp of quality arrangements. We seek individuals who are proactive in resolving Configuration Management issues, analyzing data, and highlighting relevant concerns. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to extract and compile data from various sources, maintain accurate and timely records, and identify opportunities for improving procedures, processes, and systems.
Other qualifications include:
- Experience in Configuration Management.
- A degree in a relevant science or engineering field, or a strong technical background is preferred.
- Understanding of HPC context is desirable.
- Experience in managing engineering documentation, including Redline Drawings and Work Pack management.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including technical disciplines.
- Confident decision-making abilities, with the capability to escalate and resolve issues effectively.
- Willingness to travel to multiple office locations.

Responsibilities
In this role, as our next Configuration Engineer, you will deliver configuration management for the HPC Project within the HPC Technical Directorate. Your mission is to ensure that the HPC design meets the highest professional standards and fully complies with UK regulations and context. Specific responsibilities include:
- Working with multiple Turnkey contract suppliers across different HPC programs to understand their configuration management processes, and influencing them to align their procedures with ours.
- Collaborating as part of a team to deliver oversight and surveillance activities.
- Understanding how to bring together various contract configuration management systems to create a single configuration management database, thus establishing a single source of truth.
- Serving as the primary contact for several HPC Turnkey contracts regarding configuration topics, acting as the technical liaison for Engineering Managers and Design Entities.
- Executing all activities with strict adherence to site license requirements, statutory regulations, company and local directives, procedures, and safety rules.
- Identifying and developing opportunities to streamline configuration management processes and procedures concerning the Turnkey scope and wider project as necessary.
- Overseeing the maintenance and accuracy of the Plant Configuration Registers and List of Applicable Documents across several Turnkey contracts.
Description
Reporting to the Turnkey Configuration Team Lead, your primary responsibility will be to define and deliver oversight of the configuration management performed by our Turnkey supplier contracts. You will collaborate with the wider HPC Plant Configuration Team and HPC suppliers across a variety of contracts. The Plant Configuration Team is vital in ensuring that the HPC project is designed, manufactured, installed, and commissioned in a controlled manner, contributing significantly to the goal of operating the station. Your role is crucial in maintaining adherence to procedures and safety rules in delivering a safe and operable power station. The position offers a PAYE rate of £288.15 or an umbrella rate of £404.38.
