Requirements
Must:
- I have significant previous experience in developing embedded software using Ada.
- I am familiar with working in a lab environment utilizing components and test equipment, such as scopes.
- I possess expertise in hard real-time embedded software development.
- I have experience with real-time operating systems, such as FreeRTOS.
- Desirable but not essential: I have knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., SPI, UART, Ethernet, PCI-Express) and experience in model-based development using UML or tools like IBM's Rhapsody.
- I demonstrate strong problem-solving skills at both the system and software component levels to investigate software/hardware issues, as well as system integration and performance analysis.
Responsibilities
- I will be engaged in a technical hands-on role encompassing all aspects of the software life cycle, including requirements capture, embedded software architecture and design, implementation in Ada, and verification (reviews and testing).
- I will collaborate closely with other software engineers as well as firmware, systems, hardware, and test engineers to ensure the success of our projects.
- I will contribute to the development of current and future datalink systems and their associated protocols.
- I will have opportunities for hands-on embedded software development and will be encouraged to grow my career through training programs aimed at equipping me with the skills and tools to advance to technical or managerial leadership roles within MBDA.
Description
Real Time Datalink Software plays a critical role in supplying datalink software for a diverse range of missiles and platforms that require effective communication over the air. The position offers a competitive salary of circa £65,000, depending on experience, with dynamic hybrid working (4 days on-site) due to workload classification. To qualify, I must be a British citizen or a dual UK national with British citizenship, and I will need to undergo necessary security checks as part of the hiring process.
