Requirements
Must:
We are seeking a Data Analyst for Business Intelligence and Insights who possesses strong technical skills in SQL, Excel, Power BI, DAX, and ideally Python or R. You will have experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks, along with a deep understanding of databases, ETL frameworks, data models, and the Microsoft BI Stack. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will need to explain complex data to non-technical audiences. A curious mindset, problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to challenge the status quo are needed. Familiarity with customer and/or asset data and performance frameworks in regulated sectors (e.g., social housing) is a plus. We value a methodical and analytical approach to problem-solving and the proven ability to manage competing priorities while delivering to deadlines. A collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation are essential. You should understand the value of data in driving organisational improvement and transformation.
Responsibilities
In the role of Data Analyst for Business Intelligence and Insights, you will lead the full data analysis lifecycle – from requirements gathering and data modelling to building impactful dashboards and visualisations. You will deliver innovative, high-quality reports and analytics that support both strategic and operational decision-making. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining robust data models and reusable assets to ensure consistency and scalability across business areas. Collaboration with teams across the organisation will be crucial, as you will understand data needs, offer expert advice, and help embed a culture of data curiosity. You will also help define and implement the technical approach for BI reporting, troubleshoot complex data quality issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in data governance and reporting standards. Training colleagues on how to interpret and maximise the benefits of dashboards and analytics tools will be part of your duties. You will translate complex data into easy-to-understand visualisations using tools like Power BI and DAX and support regulatory reporting through accurate data extractions and submissions. Additionally, you will apply statistical techniques to identify trends and generate insights and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to remain informed about best practices and emerging tools.
Description
We are an established Housing Association located in the West Midlands, and we are excited to expand our growing Business Intelligence team with a dynamic Data Analyst. You will play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable intelligence, supporting data-led decision-making, and shaping performance reporting across our purpose-driven organisation. Currently, we are at the beginning of an exciting 5-year strategic plan where data acts as one of the five pillars, providing you with a significant opportunity to shape this area. This role is hybrid and will require you to be in the West Midlands-based office 2-3 days per week. Please note that this is a 6-month fixed-term contract.
