Quantitative Engineer
£100,000 - 100,000
James Joseph Associates Limited
City Road 152-160, London
£100,000 - 100,000
Requirements
Must:
We are seeking candidates with demonstrable commercial experience coding in Rust. You should have a solid understanding of trading strategies such as arbitrage, market-making, or execution flow. A solid grasp of algorithm design, data structures, and quantitative finance fundamentals—such as limit order books, price discovery, and microstructure dynamics—is essential. Exposure to performance-critical systems, including real-time data flows and shared memory communication, is highly valued. A degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics is required, with a postgraduate qualification considered a plus. While prior experience in high-frequency trading or electronic markets is beneficial, it is not mandatory.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will need you to collaborate with our Quant Traders and Researchers to design, implement, and test trading strategies and algorithms. You will be responsible for automating the deployment and monitoring of these trading strategies to ensure their optimum effectiveness. Additionally, you will create tooling and infrastructure to support research and improve decision-making, like data analytics and strategy optimization tools. I expect you to architect and maintain high-performance trading systems using Rust.
Description
As a globally recognized name in High-Frequency Prop Trading and Market Making, we take pride in our consistent success and impressive profitability. With our continued growth, we are expanding our world-class Quant Development team by hiring a genuine Quant Engineer with commercial exposure to coding in Rust. In this role, you will work within a small autonomous team that serves as a conduit between our low-level core development team and the front office quant researchers and traders across multiple trading platforms (Prop, Market Making, and OTC Derivatives). You will collaborate closely with our hands-on Quant Dev Lead in a flat structure, enjoying significant autonomy and a particularly collaborative relationship with the front office, where roles and responsibilities often overlap. This is a fantastic opportunity for a quantitatively focused engineer to showcase their talents by designing and implementing Quant Trading strategies, rather than focusing solely on lower-level technical latency or performance concerns.
