We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer with a strong specialization in Microsoft SQL. You should have expertise in SQL Server versions 2016 to 2022 and experience in resolving complex database-related issues encompassing availability, tuning, and architecture at an enterprise scale. You will contribute to shaping and designing our SRE practices for the MSSQL offering and will be the technical escalation point for complex database-related issues, providing expert solutions. A strong familiarity with advanced SLIs and SLOs and experience in database automation and estate standardization is also highly valued. Additionally, expert knowledge in system configuration management tools such as Chef and Ansible, as well as proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell for automation and migration tasks, is required. You may be assessed on critical skills relevant to success in this role, including risk management, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and job-specific technical competencies.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of our systems and services. This includes proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning. You will also be tasked with the resolution, analysis, and response to system outages and disruptions, implementing measures to prevent recurring incidents. Your focus will include developing tools and scripts to automate operational processes, thereby reducing manual workload and improving system resilience. You will collaborate with development teams to integrate best practices into our software development lifecycle, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across teams. Staying informed of industry technology trends and contributing to our technology communities will be crucial to fostering a culture of technical excellence and growth.
