Must:
We are seeking Network Engineers who possess excellent problem-solving abilities. You should be able to work independently in the field when necessary. It is important that you have a university degree, an equivalent technical qualification, or relevant experience. Additionally, a professional Cisco qualification (ideally CCNA) is required, along with a CCSA (Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator) certification or demonstrable experience managing Checkpoint firewalls. While not mandatory, an ITIL Service Management Foundation Qualification, CCNA, and CompTIA Network+ certifications are desirable. A full UK driving license is also necessary for this role.
Responsibilities
As a Network Engineer, you will maintain, replace, and upgrade network equipment across a large geographic area, covering layer 1 to layer 3 technologies. You will engineer, design, and deploy highly available network services and solutions that align with our business, strategic, and technical requirements. You will also develop network infrastructure roadmaps, conduct feasibility studies, and collaborate with other technical colleagues to review proposals. Identifying, recommending, and leading continuous network infrastructure improvement efforts will be part of your responsibilities. You'll troubleshoot LAN/WAN/WLAN/Firewall issues and research complex data communication failures. Furthermore, securing, updating, and patching network devices, as well as monitoring network operations and maintaining monitoring tools, will be key aspects of your role.
Description
This is a 12-month contract position for a Network Engineer with a daily rate of £300.00 - £350.00. The IR35 status is yet to be determined but is likely to be inside IR35. You will be based in our Wrexham office on a hybrid basis (approximately 2 days per week), with occasional travel to surrounding sites as needed (around 1-2 times per week). A company works van will be provided for fieldwork. Please note that candidates must be able to lift and carry heavy IT equipment throughout any assigned shift unassisted.
