Requirements
Must:
I am looking for candidates with significant experience using Python to automate infrastructure processes. You should have hands-on knowledge of Ansible and Infrastructure as Code practices. A solid understanding of VMware technologies, ideally VCF and/or vSphere, is essential. Additionally, a strong grounding in networking and operating systems (Linux, TCP/IP, DNS) is required. Experience with API integration and hybrid infrastructure environments is important. Familiarity with modern development practices, including version control and CI/CD, will be beneficial.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation for enterprise-scale virtualisation environments. You will develop Python-based tooling and Ansible playbooks to streamline installation, configuration, and management processes. Your tasks will also include building and integrating APIs to enable on-demand infrastructure services, as well as testing, validating, and certifying new hardware and software components. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and design robust technical solutions, while delivering projects to deadlines with a strong focus on quality and security.

This is a 12-month contract position based in Glasgow, with a hybrid working model (3 days onsite). Desirable extras include expertise in the VMware suite (VCF, vSphere, vSAN) in both greenfield and brownfield settings, knowledge of infrastructure testing approaches, and experience with other scripting or programming languages such as Go, PowerShell, or Bash.
