Requirements
Must:
- I require time-served experience in iOS development using Swift, Swift UI, and Xcode.
- A passion for mobile development, staying up to date with the latest iOS development trends and best practices is essential.
- A good understanding of iOS design principles and interface guidelines is necessary.
- I am looking for someone who embraces collaboration when building solutions.
- A good understanding of MVVM architecture and associated design patterns is important.
- You should be able to apply SOLID principles to improve the structure, quality, and maintainability of code.
- I value a DevOps mindset, with an understanding of how software and infrastructure work together.
- Understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery, and their implementation via pipelines is required.
- I appreciate proactive problem solvers who look for solutions to issues that arise in their domain.
- Experience with troubleshooting/debugging application bugs and making performance improvements is expected.
- Familiarity with using the Swift Package Manager is necessary.
- An understanding of mobile app analytics and its use to maintain stable, crash-free applications is important.
- Experience using native OS features such as push notifications, HealthKit, and App Intents is desirable.
- Experience integrating with RESTful APIs is essential.
- You should have experience handling concurrency (e.g., background tasks/network activity without blocking the UI thread).
Responsibilities
- I expect you to work with a multi-disciplinary team to design, document, and develop high-quality, scalable solutions for the NHS App's iOS application using Swift and Swift UI.
- Creating appropriate unit and integration tests for your work is a key responsibility.
- You will write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that follows best practices and coding standards.
- I need you to optimize solutions for performance and speed to provide an excellent user experience.
- Ensuring the application meets Apple App Store requirements will be part of your role.
- You will work closely with UI/UX designers to ensure the application implements a consistent and intuitive visual design.
- Supporting what you deliver in production is also expected.
Description
In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining features for the iOS variant of our App. Working alongside a diverse team of tech, design, business, product, infrastructure, and testing professionals, you will help design, develop, test, and deliver new features while also maintaining existing ones. You will be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle, chiefly responsible for producing high-quality, performant, well-documented, and tested features that deliver a first-class experience to millions of users across England. What you'll get in return: I am offering a competitive rate of approximately £610 per day (inside IR35) for this remote position.
