Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a self-motivated Senior Android Engineer with the following essential skills and experience:
- Excellent knowledge of Kotlin and Java.
- Strong understanding of Android SDK, UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
- Extensive knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and libraries for common tasks, benchmarking, and optimization.
- Proficiency in Google’s Android design principles, interface guidelines, and code versioning tools (e.g., Git).
- Ability to apply SOLID principles, MVVM/MVI architecture, and Android Architecture Components, including other Jetpack libraries.
- Familiarity with Jetpack Compose and working within a modularized codebase.
- Experience with UI testing.
Responsibilities
As part of our team, you will be accountable for security within the mobile channel. Your contributions will include crafting, developing, and producing mobile components and services. You will engage in stakeholder management, working closely with strategy teams to architect, design, and implement secure solutions. Your efforts will help us build a scalable and adaptive approach to securing our mobile apps, enabling mobile engineers across the bank to operate confidently within an evolving threat landscape.

This is a 6-month contract position based in Bristol, UK, working in a hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
