Must:
To be successful in this position, I need prior experience in IT Support roles, preferably within the education sector, such as in schools, trusts, colleges, or education-based managed service providers (MSPs). I should be comfortable in face-to-face support environments, working closely with end users, and possess excellent communication and rapport-building skills. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and other technologies unique to the education sector is essential. Additionally, as I will be based in different schools, a valid driving license and access to my own vehicle are required.

As an IT Engineer for our trust, I will report to the Service Desk Lead and become an integral part of the wider IT team, which has been established for over two years, alongside experienced IT Engineers. My role will involve providing IT support in secondary schools across the Bury and Rochdale areas, with occasional travel to Bolton and Salford. I will maintain and develop the school's desktop and mobile devices, offering technical support to both staff and pupils regarding IT equipment. Responsibilities also include assisting with hardware, software, and bespoke educational technologies, as well as supporting the rollout of IT projects related to upgrades, migrations, or the introduction of new systems. This will require liaising with third-party vendors regarding specialist technologies and platforms, allowing me to further enhance my skills and knowledge.

The trust has a collaborative and supportive culture where development opportunities are available. My role will provide me the opportunity to further develop my own skills while being a key part of the trust's success story. I will receive a salary between £31,000 and £34,000 based on my experience, along with an excellent benefits package, including a local government pension scheme, 28 days of holiday (plus bank holidays), free parking, and various other benefits.
