Must:
We prefer candidates based in Scotland. I am looking for a full-stack developer who has solid commercial AWS development experience. You must be enthusiastic about creating excellent quality software collaboratively. It’s important that you can work with business stakeholders to understand context and deliver value effectively. Experience in designing and implementing solutions using service-based and serverless architecture is required. You should have excellent collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills, as well as experience with Agile delivery models such as Scrum or Kanban. Familiarity with implementing authentication services via Cognito and IAM is essential. Significant commercial experience with the following technologies is necessary:
- AWS Serverless (Lambda)
- CodePipeline
- Typescript and TypeOrm
- Java Spring
- Python CDK
- React
- S3
- ElasticSearch/OpenSearch
- Aurora Serverless (Postgres)
- DynamoDB
- Testing frameworks such as Cypress/React testing library
Additional desirable skills include:
- MongoDB
- Oracle databases
- OpenShift/Docker
- Prisma
- Cloud data security integration
- Domain-driven design
- Human-centered, research-driven, inclusive design practices
- Testing tools and frameworks
- Cloud monitoring, telemetry, intelligence tools, and processes

Responsibilities
In this contract role, you will help us transition from legacy on-prem document management and archiving systems to new cloud-native solutions. Your main duties will include:
- Migrating the 2nd series CSR Search Sheet and Minute metadata from legacy databases
- Enhancing search capabilities for 2nd series Search Sheets and indexes using address, organization, or person name
- Performing data refreshes and supporting event-driven updates to Search Sheet metadata
- Onboarding ScotLIS with new API endpoints to assist users in finding and viewing Search Sheets
- Conducting investigation and discovery work for legacy Archive V2/V3 service migration
- Implementing a migration strategy for the LR Archive V2/V3 documents and associated metadata to the new Land Register archive
- Replacing legacy pipeline automation with best practice approaches, introducing features like shift left security checks
- Introducing new service capabilities for improved backup and restoration of existing Land Register and Sasine Archive databases
- Migrating, verifying, and testing individual groups of documents to the new Land Register archive
Description
This role is a 12-month contract and has been deemed Outside IR35 by our client. You will receive a competitive day rate of £450. We are starting the hiring process ASAP.
