Requirements
Must:
- Experience as a user researcher or in relevant fields of research.
- Ability to advise colleagues on the best research tools and methods to assure best practice in research.
- Collaborative experience with other researchers on research projects.
- Proven ability to champion, plan, and conduct research approaches that are inclusive of all users.
- Understanding of the ethical and data governance requirements of conducting research.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and clients.
- Skills in persuading others on the value of research while defending findings and challenging misuse of research.
- Experience working within constraints and adapting approaches accordingly.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead meaningful research to improve digital services. You will shape experiences for millions relying on these services. Your mentorship will support fellow researchers, fostering a community that drives high-quality user research across the Department. By championing user-centered design, you will ensure services are built with accessibility and inclusivity in mind. Utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research methods, you will work within agile teams to continuously enhance digital services. Your insights will inform decision-making, ensuring solutions align with user expectations while adhering to efficiency, ethical standards, and best practices. Additionally, you will engage in a thriving User Research community, with opportunities for coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
