Must:
We are looking for an individual with a Level 4 qualification in ICT, Business, or Project Management, although a Level 5 qualification is desired. Alternatively, 2+ years of relevant experience with ongoing continuing professional development (CPD) would be acceptable. You should possess strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 environments (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) alongside high-level Excel skills, and be confident in supporting telephony systems. Essential skills include VBA macro programming, and exposure to SQL is preferred; certifications in SQL, VB, C#, cloud, or database services are a plus. We value excellent organization, communication, and customer service abilities, especially the skill to translate technical issues into clear and helpful guidance. A full UK driving license and the ability to travel to other depots when needed (mileage reimbursed) are also required. High standards of integrity, productivity, attention to detail, and a continuous-improvement mindset are essential.
Responsibilities
As our IT Technician, you will provide responsive 1st and 2nd line support for colleagues across desktops, laptops, printers, mobile phones, and associated infrastructure; diagnosing and resolving faults while escalating when necessary. You will monitor and maintain the network and critical hardware, implementing advised fixes in conjunction with off-site support partners. You will administer and improve our IT helpdesk, ensuring clear communication and timely updates to users and stakeholders. Supporting Microsoft 365 environments will be part of your role, along with contributing to user enablement and best practice adoption. You will use Visual Basic (VBA) and SQL to automate tasks and integrate data for accurate management reporting. Maintaining the IT asset register and supporting lifecycle management for hardware, mobile phones, photocopiers, and telephony systems will be your responsibility, as well as contributing to IT policies, risk strategy, and staff training. You'll help prepare periodic reports for leadership, deputizing for the IT Manager when required, and actively identify and deliver process improvements that streamline workflows and enhance service quality.
