Must:
We are looking for an experienced, highly technical analyst with an engineering mindset who is comfortable tackling complex problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a passion for problem solving. Here are the essential and beneficial skills we're seeking:
Essential:
- Experience with Sentinel (specialist)
- SOC experience in an MSP / MSSP environment
- In-depth understanding of security and analytical concepts
- Exposure to IT Security Operations in large and complex organizations
- Some coding ability
Beneficial:
- Experience with Splunk
- Familiarity with Palo Alto (XDR / XSIAM)
- Skills in Forensics
- Experience or interest in Reverse Engineering, Malware Analysis, Vulnerability Research
- Industry-recognized qualifications (e.g. SANS, OSCP, ISC2)
Responsibilities
As a Principal Security Analyst, you will support busy pods on more complex issues and lead and coordinate threat hunting activities. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Performing and leading vulnerability assessment activities
- Conducting SIEM-based event analysis and incident triage
- Coordinating incident response activities
- Acting as an escalation point for Senior Analysts
- Identifying opportunities to tune, optimize, automate, and improve relevant systems
- Collaborating with other analysts to enhance team effectiveness through ownership of relevant issues
- Contributing to a culture of continual improvement
Description
This role does not involve line management responsibilities, allowing you to focus on complex alerts and provide support to other analysts. We anticipate that you will be eligible for UK Security Clearance, although it won’t be required from the start.
