Requirements
Must:
We expect you to be degree educated in Computer Science or a similar STEM discipline, having achieved a 2.1 or above from a Russell Group, Oxbridge, or a top 100 global university. You should be an experienced software engineer with a strong knowledge of best practices and computer science fundamentals, along with the experience of delivering complex, data-centric software. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as a comfort in taking ownership of projects and mentoring junior team members. Strong TypeScript skills are required, along with experience in any backend programming language such as Python, Java, C++, or C#. You should be willing to work with our tech stack, which includes Elixir, Ember, Elm, Phoenix, LiveView, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Docker (prior experience with all is not necessary). An analytical mindset and enjoyment of problem-solving are critical, as is experience working in start-ups or SMEs, along with good business acumen. Ideally, you will also have a good understanding of financial markets.
Responsibilities
As a Full Stack Engineer, you will take ownership of technically challenging Greenfield development projects. You'll engage with complex problems focused on scalability and reliability across the full development lifecycle, from architecture and design through to implementation. Your work will involve a balanced focus on both backend and frontend development, utilizing TypeScript, Elixir, Elm, and AWS among other technologies. We value a collaborative, tech-driven environment where you can learn and pick up new skills on the job while seeing the tangible results of your contributions.
