Requirements
Must:
To be successful as a Mainframe Design Engineer, you should possess:
- An understanding of the lifecycle of a loan or other products within a lending platform and the ability to map a customer journey to specific implementations on different platforms.
- Integration experience with a strong background in data integration and middleware.
- The demonstrated ability to define data provenance across systems.
- Logical thinking with problem-solving abilities, along with strong communication and presentation skills, enabling you to vary and tailor messages to a broad range of audiences.
- Operational analysis skills.
- Experience dealing with third parties.
- Strong communication skills to effectively bridge technical and business teams.
- Experience with data and Mainframe technologies, such as COBOL and DB2.
Responsibilities
In this role, I expect you to:
- Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Ensure that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration aligned with business objectives.
- Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, actively contributing to our technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
- Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
