Requirements
Must:
- I need someone with a background in software engineering, software design, architecture, and an understanding of how their area of expertise supports our customers. Experience with REXX would be advantageous.
- I also require:
- Experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS
- Experience working with development and testing tools, bug tracking tools, and wikis
- Experience in multiple programming languages or Low Code toolsets
- Experience in DevOps, Testing, and Agile methodology and associated toolsets
- A background in solving highly complex, analytical, and numerical problems
- Experience implementing programming best practices, especially around scalability, automation, virtualization, optimization, availability, and performance
Responsibilities
- In this role, you’ll be part of the Environment Management Platform (EMP) operations team, which oversees mainframe, SIT, and NFT environments.
- I will rely on you to carry out daily business-as-usual activities, such as running batches, fixing abends and failures, pre- and post-batch activities, hosting build deployments, executing SQL in DB2, and scheduling jobs.
- You’ll serve as the custodian for the mainframe environment, collaborating with project and infrastructure partners to understand customer requirements.
- You’ll also be responsible for:
- Producing complex and critical software rapidly and of high quality, which adds value to the business
- Working in permanent teams responsible for the full life cycle, from initial development to enhancement, maintenance, and eventual replacement or decommissioning
- Collaborating to optimize our software engineering capability
- Designing, producing, testing, and implementing our working code
- Working across the life cycle, from requirements analysis and design through coding to testing, deployment, and operations
