Requirements
Must:
- Experience and knowledge of software/hardware testing processes and procedures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proven experience within IT and troubleshooting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks under pressure
- Inquisitive and driven to perform at best
- Able to build trust and relationships at all levels
- Experience in executing test scripts, system databases, and automation is advantageous
- Qualifications such as ISTQB, ITIL, etc. are desirable
- Previous technical exposure to Electronic Retail Point of Sale systems is beneficial
Responsibilities
As the National IT Technician, you will be responsible for the following:
- Utilize business requirements for the creation and execution of test scripts
- Raise concise defects and provide the necessary testing support for their resolution
- Support with root-cause analysis into discovered defects and/or errors
- Coordinate internal and external testing, including collaboration with third-party vendors and IIT developers
- Monitor and report on testing status
- Maintain testing equipment and environments
- Develop training materials and other supporting documentation
- Assist the wider team in deployment activities, including out-of-hours work when necessary
- Ensure compliance with Aldi policies and deadlines in your area of responsibility
- Maintain appropriate data, backups, and logs for your area
- Check invoices according to company procedures
- Maintain asset, warranty, repair, license, and other IT controls as required
Description
This role requires flexibility with potential out-of-hours and weekend work due to its nature. We offer a starting salary of £31,335, rising to £35,020, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and the possibility of two remote working days per week after passing a three-month probation period.
