Requirements
Must:
- 3rd Line Windows server support
- Demonstrable VMware skills
- Proficiency in MS Exchange
- Understanding of internet and routing protocols
- SQL support experience
- Familiarity with cloud computing
- Knowledge of network security and architecture
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory and similar tools
- Proficiency in PC and printer hardware support
- Skills in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook
- Understanding of networking protocols and technologies
- Server administration expertise
- Experience with NAS and SAN storage device maintenance
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup management, including Veritas, Veeam, and Windows Backup
- Competency in Hyper-V and VMware
- Familiarity with CISCO Meraki firewalls
- Strong troubleshooting skills with Microsoft Exchange and technical errors
- Knowledge of CCTV systems and related technical issues
- Clean UK driving licence and willingness to drive company vehicles (not essential)
- Experience of at least 3 years in a similar role (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Design and implement efficient and reliable networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN) and configure software, servers, routers, and other network components.
- Monitor network performance and integrity, proactively troubleshoot cloud and local infrastructure issues, and streamline tasks through automation.
- Implement robust backup procedures for servers and ensure comprehensive technical documentation is maintained.
- Propose enhancements to optimize network performance, capacity, and scalability.
- Plan, organize, control, and assess IT and electronic data operations.
- Spearhead the design, development, implementation, and coordination of servers, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with user needs and server functionality.
- Provide help desk and technical services assistance to both on-site and remote employees.
- Manage all aspects of the implementation and operation of information and functional systems for the organization, including software applications, network, phone systems, and end-user computers.
