Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate with a broad knowledge of security risk and assurance practices, including detailed knowledge of security control frameworks such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, NIST CSF, NIS, CIS Top 20, and OWASP. You should have experience with regulatory and compliance responsibilities relevant to universities, including GDPR, DPA, PCI DSS, and Ofsted. A solid understanding of various tools is essential, particularly those related to Security Information and Event Management, Vulnerability Management, and Endpoint Detection and Response systems. You should excel in measuring the performance and effectiveness of security controls to reduce incidents and safeguard sensitive data. Additionally, knowledge of risk reduction across third parties and throughout the supply chain is important.
Responsibilities
As a Cyber Security Operations Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our Security Operations Centre (SOC). You will manage and operate various security tasks, respond to and resolve security events and incidents, and identify vulnerabilities. Deploying mitigation tactics and escalating issues when necessary will be part of your daily tasks. Your role also includes conducting risk assessments and performing horizon scanning to ensure our control environment can effectively respond to the latest threats. You will be responsible for reviewing security processes and systems, proactively identifying areas for improvement, and creating recommendations to enhance our security posture. You will engage with colleagues, participate in change approval boards, oversee security elements for new products and services, and work closely with vendors.
