Requirements
Must:
- At least 4 years of experience onboarding Windows and Linux servers to Microsoft Defender.
- Proven experience in AV migration within complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft security tools, including Defender for Endpoint, O365, Identity, and Cloud App Security.
- Expertise in EDR, Threat & Vulnerability Management, Attack Surface Reduction, and Auto Remediation.
- Familiarity with Symantec Endpoint Protection and McAfee.
- Strong knowledge of Windows (7/8/10, Server 2008-2016) and RHEL Linux.
- Experience with deployment via GPO, SCCM, or Intune.
- Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (5 years of UK residency required).
Responsibilities
- Migrate servers from legacy antivirus solutions to Microsoft Defender ATP.
- Validate and implement antivirus exclusion policies.
- Design migration strategies for secure environments.
- Create and manage Azure Active Directory device groups for policy deployment.
- Conduct connectivity testing, build Defender installation packages, and oversee distribution.
- Remove legacy antivirus solutions and ensure robust endpoint security.
- Provide end-to-end support for Defender, including policy creation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Participate in out-of-hours and on-call support as needed.
Description
We are seeking a skilled Defender Administrator to lead our migration from Symantec and McAfee antivirus solutions to Microsoft Defender (ATP) across Windows and Linux servers. This role will be conducted in a highly regulated environment, requiring hands-on expertise and the ability to work collaboratively. The position is hybrid, based in Gloucester or Warrington, with on-site work required. The rate for this position is £425 per day (Inside IR35), and the expected start date is September 30, 2025. The duration of the role is to be confirmed.
