Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience supporting fire and security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intruder, Fire).
- Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent telephone manner with the ability to communicate clearly with customers.
- Good understanding of network/IP-based systems.
- Ability to manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused, professional, and reliable team player.
*Desirable Experience:*
- Familiarity with UDL software across Galaxy, ATS, and Intruder Alarm Panels.
- Experience with enterprise-level CCTV systems (e.g., Cathexis).
- Knowledge of Cash4Windows and enterprise-level Access Control systems.
- Strong understanding of IP/network infrastructure and remote programming.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to customers and engineers by phone and email.
- Diagnose faults on fire and security systems using remote access tools.
- Resolve issues whenever possible without the need for engineer attendance.
- Escalate unresolved cases to field engineers or relevant teams when necessary.
- Record accurate information and updates for scheduling and customer teams.
- Prioritise workload to meet service level agreements and contractual deadlines.
- Deliver excellent communication and customer service at all times.
- Support the Service Scheduling Team when required.
Description
We are excited to recruit a Technical Support Specialist to join our MiTec team in Lurgan. In this customer-facing technical position, I will provide expert remote support for fire and security systems. I understand that this is not a field-based role; instead, I will be diagnosing and resolving issues over the phone and via remote access tools. My goal is to reduce the need for engineer callouts by quickly and effectively identifying and solving problems, working closely with our Customer Service and Scheduling teams to ensure every customer receives a prompt, professional, and high-quality service. The position offers a competitive salary of £30,000 per annum and a full-time shift pattern of 4 on / 4 off (two days followed by two nights).
