Requirements

Must:
- Substantial experience in ICT systems, including SQL Server or equivalent database management, report writing tools, and spreadsheets. - Degree-level qualification or equivalent in ICT or a related field. - Broad understanding of ITIL principles, particularly Incident, Problem, and Change Management. - Proven track record of meeting SLAs and delivering projects on time. - Experience implementing and supporting enterprise applications, including system upgrades and functional enhancements. - Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle during the working day. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical issues. - Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills under pressure. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Highly motivated, proactive, and improvement-focused. - Previous supervisory experience. - Evidence of ongoing professional development in ICT technologies and applications.

Responsibilities

- Deliver professional, efficient, and “right first time” support and development for assigned applications in line with SLAs. - Manage customer change requests fairly and efficiently. - Collaborate across ICT teams to continuously improve applications, maintain knowledge bases, and reduce recurring incidents ("shift left"). - Produce monthly service delivery reports against SLAs, highlighting project milestones and achievements. - Ensure compliance with ICT Security Policy and contribute to maintaining the ICT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan. - Monitor contracts for assigned applications, flagging renewal or replacement needs in good time. - Liaise with third-party suppliers and partners to maintain supported software versions and manage dependencies. - Supervise and support Analysts, Graduates, and Apprentices, including performance reviews and daily task allocation. - Ensure cross-cover arrangements for applications during staff absences. - Promote innovation, efficiency, and customer focus while balancing technical and financial constraints. - Support the Council’s safeguarding policies and undertake any required training.
