Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Backend Software Developer with strong C++ skills and experience in distributed systems (Kafka preferred, but other similar frameworks are also valuable). You should possess database expertise, particularly in Postgres optimization and data pipelines. Proficiency in CI/CD, including Git and automated testing as well as deployment pipelines, is essential. Experience with containerization deployment (Docker or Kubernetes) is required, and knowledge of shell scripting would be beneficial. We value a collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn beyond your expertise.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will enhance data processing pipelines for "what-if" experiments. You will optimize Kafka processes for simulation outputs and improve database performance, resilience, and reliability.
Description
This position is inside IR35 and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring you to be onsite in London 1-2 days a week. You will be working on a long-term government contract via a specialized public sector consultancy. The compensation ranges from £450 to £600 per day, with 6-month rolling contracts available.
