Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and experience:
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience with Windows Server 2003 – 2019, including implementation and troubleshooting.
- 1-3 years of experience in Active Directory and Group Policy Management.
- 1-3 years of experience in VMware VCentre Administration and Support.
- Familiarity with backup best practices and tools such as Symantec Backup Exec or Veeam.
- 2-5 years of experience managing and supporting Cisco LAN & WLAN networking equipment.
- Microsoft Accreditations or other industry-recognized qualifications.
- Preferred knowledge of Linux Server OS.
- Understanding of SAN storage solutions, data management, and troubleshooting.
- 1-3 years of experience supporting Industrial Networks and Network Security.
- 1-3 years of previous experience with Industrial Assets and support.
- Knowledge of ITIL Principles and Cisco or other industry-recognized network qualifications.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will need you to:
- Support the current and future development of IS systems.
- Assist in implementing the IS strategy and Roadmaps.
- Deliver key IS projects and achieve objectives within agreed timelines.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the ‘Factory of the Future’.
- Drive innovation and digitization initiatives across various functions.
- Document existing infrastructures, encompassing both Industrial and Information systems.
- Conduct proactive and regular maintenance on all relevant systems.
- Provide proximity support for third-party MSP, including switch/server/systems racking and component upgrades.
- Ensure timely resolution of industrial and infrastructure tickets logged by customers.
- Adhere to all regulatory practices, such as asset management and security protocols.
- Stay updated with technological advances, evaluating potentially beneficial options as new supplier systems/services emerge.
- Review and enhance working practices, procedures, and training documentation.
Description
This position is based in Burnley and is offered as a 3-month onsite contract, falling inside IR35 (umbrella). The rate is flexible and will depend on your experience. We are seeking a highly motivated third-line engineer who is comfortable working with multinational teams and local customers to ensure business continuity and foster digital innovation while upholding the highest security standards. If you have a broad range of IS systems knowledge and previous industrial infrastructure support experience, we encourage you to apply.
