Requirements

Must:
We are looking for individuals who have: - Essential experience in supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft desktop operating systems (such as Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, 8.1, and Windows 10). - An understanding of LAN networking concepts. - Experience and understanding of SCCM and the imaging of machines. - Proven experience in supporting peripherals. - A good grasp of corporate-level use of Active Directory and Group Policy. - Ability to define application problems by conferring with clients and evaluating procedures and processes. - Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, with excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of current technologies. - Significant corporate experience working in a customer-facing environment, addressing IS/IT related support queries via ticketing systems from a diverse range of business customers. - Experience in delivering IS/IT projects and tasks within agreed timelines, along with the ability to write, review, and update documentation and procedures. - Good written communication skills, including proficiency in Word, Visio, PowerPoint, etc. - Presentation skills to present clear updates, solutions, and technical analysis to internal functions and external departments. - Good time management skills, demonstrating flexibility in work hours to accommodate maintenance outside of core hours. - Clear communication skills effective at all levels, from customers to technicians and other stakeholders. Preferable qualifications include: - Experience in supporting/troubleshooting Microsoft network operating systems (such as Windows 2003, Windows 2008, Windows Server 2012, R2 variants, and Windows Server 2016). - Familiarity with VPN technologies such as Direct Access. - Knowledge of Managed Print Solutions (e.g., Canon). - Experience with ITIL working practices. - Microsoft Accreditations or other relevant industry certifications.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for: - Analyzing and supporting all local IS BAU systems, ticket queues, and issues delegated by the Industrial Site IS Manager. - Conducting analysis and problem resolution for internal business application systems. - Implementing various local IS/IT systems and ensuring proactive and regular maintenance across these systems. - Responding to customer queries raised via telephone or incident tickets and ensuring timely resolution of infrastructure incidents. - Minimizing the impact of incidents on end users by restoring services promptly and adhering to IS/IT service level targets, ensuring customer satisfaction. - Liaising and supporting other IS/IT and business sections to resolve incidents and contribute to group strategic goals. - Communicating with 3rd party technical suppliers as needed, raising fault service requests, and managing 3rd party incidents. - Collaborating with team members for problem resolution and sharing ideas. - Adhering to regulatory practices such as asset management and security. - Providing technical governance and assistance to all IT/IS team members, including training and knowledge sharing. - Keeping up with technological advances and evaluating beneficial options as they arise. - Maintaining ticket queue levels below an agreed target and ensuring safe working practices, reporting any hazards to the Industrial Site IS Manager. - Using a 5S approach (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to enhance workplace efficiency and effectiveness. - Assisting the Industrial Site IS Manager with any audit or compliance requirements, analyzing ticket status, delays, and resolutions. - Providing holiday coverage for other team members and becoming a subject matter expert on all aspects of Information Systems.

Description

This position is based in Burnley and is an onsite 3-month contract with the potential to extend. We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible. The role is inside IR35 and the rate is flexible, depending on experience. We value a proactive approach and the ability to adapt to varying workloads and tasks as they arise.
