Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining enterprise-level IT strategies and architectures, particularly in digital, data, and cloud environments.
- Expertise in data warehousing and data lakes, especially with Azure Data Lake.
- Proficient in reporting and analytics tools, such as Power BI.
- Experience in analytics, data mining, and data science.
- Strong skills in data integration, migration, and ETL processes.
- Knowledge in master and reference data management.
- Experience with data governance and quality management.
- Familiarity with data modeling and lineage tracking.
- Understanding of data resiliency and recovery.
- Experience with digital platforms, including portals and content management systems.
- Knowledge of integration services and identity management.
- Broad understanding of IT systems and architectures.
- Familiarity with data management best practices, such as DAMA.
Responsibilities
- I will lead the technology strategy for data, ensuring it aligns with the organization's broader corporate business, data, and digital strategies.
- I will oversee the development, communication, and implementation of our data strategy.
- I will collaborate with Data and Analytics teams to integrate operational capabilities and drive thought leadership with a strong focus on data.
- I will provide architectural guidance for both business-led and technology-driven transformation initiatives.
Description
This position offers strategic technology leadership with a competitive package of £150,000, working in a hybrid model from either Southampton or London, within a well-known financial services brand. Our organization adopts a cloud-first strategy, utilizing key SaaS applications and Azure-hosted data and digital capabilities. Our data platform is built on a Lakehouse architecture, leveraging Azure Data Lake and Microsoft data services, which supports reporting, analytics, and insights while evolving to provide advanced business intelligence. Desirable attributes include knowledge of the financial services landscape, understanding of business strategy and operational processes, and strong interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at every level. Experience with IT sourcing and supplier management, along with relevant certifications in Enterprise Architecture frameworks, ITIL, or Agile practices, will be a plus.
