Requirements
Must:
We require candidates to have strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and firewalls. A deep understanding of protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS is essential. Experience with Cisco ISE, ASA, Meraki, and Nexus platforms is preferred, along with a solid understanding of network security best practices. Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools is also necessary. While Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE are preferred, candidates with experience working in enterprise or government environments will find this advantageous. Additionally, candidates currently holding or who have held high-level security clearance are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of Cisco-based network solutions, including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi systems. You will troubleshoot and resolve high-level network issues and provide expert input on infrastructure projects and proposals. Collaboration with security, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure robust and secure network designs will be a key part of your responsibilities. Maintaining detailed technical documentation and offering mentoring and knowledge transfer to internal teams will also be required.
Description
We are looking for Cisco Subject Matter Experts to support the design, deployment, and management of complex network infrastructure. You will act as a go-to expert across multiple projects and teams, bringing deep technical knowledge of Cisco technologies. This position is available in Bracknell or Birmingham, with an expected duration of 6 months and long-term extensions anticipated. The rate is negotiable, falling between £500-550 per day, and the role is inside IR35.
Please note that successful applicants will need to be security cleared prior to appointment, which can take a minimum of 18 weeks.
