Requirements
Must:
- Grade 4 in Maths and 5 in English is essential for this role.
- The apprentice needs to be over 18 as they will be staying in hotels.
- A driving license or the intent to learn to drive is preferred.
- A genuine passion for technology—not just building PCs, but a real interest in the field.
- Must be an open-minded team player.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be embedded in a dynamic hotel environment, providing IT support across multiple systems, including Wi-Fi, telephony, and audio-visual TV systems. You will document all changes clearly and communicate them via SharePoint, keeping network diagrams up to date for the respective hotel teams. Your communication styles will adapt appropriately whether it is over the phone, email, or written documentation. You will work closely with a Senior Network Engineer to assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, and firewalls. Troubleshooting will follow standard tools and processes provided by our Network Team. You’ll also be involved in upgrading legacy Wi-Fi networks to the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard, enhancing overall performance and reliability across our hotel properties. Risk assessment and task prioritization will be managed through a ticketing system, triaging issues based on urgency and the number of users impacted. Full training and support will be provided by both your workplace mentor and our expert team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

You will work towards your Level 4 Network Engineer Apprenticeship, supported by our expert training team. Salary, Hours & Benefits: - £18,000 - £21,000 per annum - Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm - 20 days of holidays plus bank holidays (28 days total) - Progression routes available - Everyone has a voice; casual dress - 1 Duvet day a year (an extra annual leave day just because you need it) - Flexible and understanding team culture, with an 80% fun and 20% serious balance.
