Requirements
Must:
We need a 3rd Line WAN Network Support & Project Engineer with the following skills and qualifications:
- Extensive experience with the Juniper SRX platform, including in-depth knowledge of Junos and experience with various SRX and MX platforms, along with comprehensive CLI exposure.
- Strong understanding of routing and switching principles.
- Proven expertise in configuring and tuning BGP, including policy-based routing, manipulation of attributes, load-balancing techniques, and comprehensive troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting IPSEC VPNs and MPLS.
- Knowledge of PKI infrastructure elements and experience with certificate-based VPN authentication.
- Candidates must possess SC clearance or be eligible for SC clearance (opportunity for sponsorship is available).
- This position is inside IR35 and requires full-time on-site presence in Birmingham for a duration of 6 months.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to:
- Configure SRX series routers to meet tight project deadlines while supporting Business As Usual (BAU) operations to facilitate the delivery of secure network services globally.
- Collaborate with the network design community and engage in knowledge sharing and upskilling within the 3rd line team.
- Manage and support the Customer Network WAN estate, addressing both project/implementation work and general technical network support escalations.
- Act as a technical lead and point of escalation for network-related faults, ensuring effective troubleshooting and resolution.
