Requirements
Must:
We are seeking dynamic individuals who have a high standard of education, including a minimum of NVQ Level 5 or equivalent in IT, computer science, electrical/electronic engineering, or a related field— or equivalent relevant experience. You should possess good English and Mathematics skills and have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a comparable service-delivery role. It is essential for you to have knowledge, understanding, and application of related health and safety regulations (e.g., PUWER, LOLER, Working at Height, COSHH) as well as the risks associated with our team's work and their relevant mitigations. We require you to be willing and able to pass both medical and practical assessments to work at height to an advanced standard. A full driving license is also required.
Responsibilities
As a Field Support Engineer, you will manage the maintenance function within our team and adapt to rapidly changing situations, ensuring that routines are completed and faults are prioritized and resolved efficiently. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving first and second-line faults across our systems and sensors in a timely manner. Acting as a point of contact for end-users, you will take ownership of field-related tickets, ensuring resolution or escalation to senior engineers or suppliers as necessary. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring service availability targets are met, logging actions and root causes, and communicating effectively with the support team regarding planned or emergency works. Additionally, you will monitor and maintain navigation systems equipment for both performance and security, liaise with external parties, and contribute to development plans based on helpdesk data.
