Must:
We require a Senior DevOps Engineer with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in a DevOps role. You should have experience in a Proxmox virtualization environment and possess strong skills in CI/CD practices and tools. Familiarity with Docker and Docker Swarm is essential. You will need to demonstrate proficiency in Infrastructure as Code methodologies using Terraform/OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or similar tools. Additionally, you should be skilled in Linux administration (Ubuntu/Debian), and have experience with Bash/Powershell scripting.
Responsibilities
In this position, you will design, implement, and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. You will manage a Proxmox environment with Linux-based Docker hosts and develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline. Supporting and training technical staff in upskilling for ongoing operations is a key aspect of your role. You will also monitor and ensure system reliability, availability, and performance using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Icinga2, Grafana, and Datadog. Automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes will be part of your responsibilities as well.

This is a newly created role within our cross-functional Software Development team, designed to enhance our service offerings and elevate our DevOps capabilities. We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, working alongside other Ops Engineers, Software Developers, and QA Engineers to streamline deployment and infrastructure management processes. Our office is ideally located in London or South Wales, with flexible and remote working options (expectations are 2 days per week on-site). We offer a competitive starting salary of £75,000 - £80,000, an annual performance-based bonus of up to 10% of your salary, 25 days of holiday per year plus bank holidays, and a range of additional benefits including life insurance, a cycle-to-work scheme, season ticket loan services, paid volunteering days, and training budgets. Please note that we are unable to provide sponsorship for this position, and candidates must have the right to work in the UK without restriction. Additionally, candidates will undergo financial and criminal record checks upon appointment due to the nature of our business.
