Requirements

Must:
- Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. - Ability to build reliable, well-tested infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi). - Proficiency in one or more programming languages, capable of writing clean and effective code. - Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems. - Knowledge of Linux/Unix fundamentals and TCP/IP networking. - Ability to evaluate the user impact of infrastructure changes. - Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, I will: - Build and scale our product platform and services in AWS. - Provide development teams with observability, monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and service-level objectives. - Participate in an on-call rota, ensuring our services remain resilient and reliable. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function.

We are offering a salary ranging from £63,824 to £83,778 (including allowances), plus excellent Civil Service benefits and pension. The salary is dependent on location and technical skills as assessed during the interview process. We encourage flexible, hybrid working from various locations including London, Cardiff, Darlington, Birmingham, Salford, Edinburgh, or Belfast. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with various technologies including AWS, Azure, Terraform/CloudFormation, Docker, ECS, ECR, ElasticSearch, Python/Django, PostgreSQL (RDS), Redis, and more. We offer a Civil Service pension with an average employer contribution of 28.97%, 25 days of annual leave (rising to 30 with service), three paid volunteering days per year, and learning and development tailored to your role. Please note that this role requires SC clearance, and to be eligible, candidates must have been resident in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
