Requirements

Must:
- Knowledge and understanding of cloud computing concepts, technologies, and advantages. - Strong experience in Azure Networking and Design. - Demonstrable knowledge of Azure services and hands-on experience, preferably in an enterprise-scale environment. - Understanding of the well-architected framework and cloud architecture best practices. - Experience in evaluating and optimizing containerized solutions for cost/performance. - Knowledge and practical experience with Terraform and/or Terraform Cloud. - Understanding of security risks associated with containerized infrastructure and relevant mitigations. - Practical experience in deploying and managing cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). - Experience working with source control, preferably GitHub. - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent working experience.

Responsibilities

- Show expertise in Azure networking and design, focusing on segmentation and security best practices. - Contribute to shaping and optimizing our cloud networking architecture. - Work closely with the Server Engineer Team Leader to provide technical guidance for cloud roadmaps and strategies, playing a key role in the development of our Azure Landing Zone footprint. - Collaborate with the Data Centre Team to continuously assess the services we provide, implementing improvements based on your knowledge and experience.

Description

As a Cloud Specialist at our South Kensington Campus, you will be part of a team of engineers building cloud infrastructure for various teams across our institution. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with Product teams in ICT, covid researchers from the Faculty of Medicine, and Business School professors. Your role involves communicating complex technical concepts to a diverse range of technical and non-technical stakeholders at varying levels of seniority. Additionally, you will evaluate technical infrastructure designs and architectures in line with architectural best practices. Current tech stack includes: Terraform and Terraform Cloud, Azure (with emphasis on PaaS Functions), Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, Splunk, and Azure Networking.
