Requirements
Must:
- Significant experience in managing Drupal websites and staying current with Drupal developments.
- Experience in collaboration with stakeholders to refine requirements and build designs or prototypes.
- Ability to create a development roadmap and communicate priorities effectively within the organization.
- Experience in explaining technical information to non-technical colleagues.
- Familiarity with APIs and embedded systems.
- Professional experience in recreation management with a focus on safety and customer service.
- Expertise in delivering large, professional websites and digital projects using Drupal.
- Commercial knowledge of the LAMP/LEMP technology stack, including full-stack development (OO PHP, HTML, CSS, JS).
- Proficient use of Git in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical team members.
- Full lifecycle involvement from scoping through to testing, deployment, and support.
- Ability to work independently as a developer while managing external development from a technical perspective.
- Knowledge of open data platforms or API integrations.
- Experience with SQL and ability to create mock-ups, wireframes, and prototypes.
Responsibilities
- Engage in project assessment and scoping to explore appropriate technical possibilities.
- Participate in the design process from understanding requirements to reviewing and challenging wireframes, prototypes, and final designs.
- Create high-quality, accessible, and responsive functionality in line with industry standards and through collaboration and code reviews.
- Ensure the ongoing operation and security of Forestry England's website and associated technology.
- Identify opportunities for further website development aligned with strategic objectives.
- Stay updated with new web and mobile technologies, recommending best practices and areas for improvement.
- Support internal teams in managing the website using the content management system.
- Oversee external development provided by a digital agency, ensuring it meets technical and administrative standards.
