Requirements

Must:
We are looking for a skilled Azure Engineer who possesses proven experience with Microsoft Azure services including IaaS, PaaS, networking, and security. You should have a strong understanding of both Windows and/or Linux server administration. Experience with Azure Active Directory, Azure Security Centre, and monitoring tools is essential. A solid foundation in IT security principles, risk management, and compliance is crucial. You should also have a strong infrastructure background in networking, firewalls, storage, backup, and disaster recovery. Excellent communication skills and previous experience in client-facing roles are required. The ability to create and maintain clear documentation and operational controls is a must. Additionally, experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 standards and audits is desirable, as is an understanding of Cyber Essentials Plus requirements. Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform) will be beneficial. Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert, are preferred. If you do not already hold the Azure Administrator Associate qualification, we will support you in obtaining it.

Responsibilities

As an Azure Engineer, your key responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud infrastructure, which encompasses networking, compute, storage, and identity services. You will be required to monitor, optimize, and support Azure-based solutions to ensure high availability and performance. Responsibilities also include implementing and maintaining IT security controls, including identity and access management, encryption, and monitoring. You will be involved in maintaining and controlling third-party client system access. You will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand their technical requirements, present solutions, and provide guidance. Producing and maintaining technical documentation, such as architecture diagrams, procedures, and operational controls, is an integral part of the role. You will assist with compliance activities and audits relating to ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and other regulatory frameworks. Additionally, you will support incident response, conduct risk assessments, and promote cybersecurity best practices. You may also handle Active Directory and Group Policy administration, and you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth delivery of infrastructure projects. This may involve attending client sites in the early stages of implementation projects to set up the infrastructure requirements.
