Requirements
Must:
- Active SC clearance is required for this role.
- Proficient in network performance monitoring using application-level traffic monitoring and low-level packet capture to diagnose network issues.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including firewalls, VPN, load balancing, and basic networking/TCP/IP.
- Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies, such as VMWare and Docker.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Python, PowerShell, and BASH scripting.
- Experience with software installation, server builds, and physical server installation in data centers.
- Understanding of Windows and Linux-based operating systems.
- Ability to gather requirements and document designs, installations, and build documents.
- Capability to generate scripts for automating functions and interfacing systems (e.g., Rest API).
- Experience in reviewing and testing new software versions in a lab/development environment.
- Knowledge of network packet sniffing and SNMP monitoring tools.
Responsibilities
- I will be part of our Network Performance Monitoring team, delivering and maintaining monitoring toolsets to our client.
- I will monitor the client networks for performance issues using our toolsets to assist in investigations and conduct deep-dive analysis.
- I will perform Level 2/3 network incident diagnostics and resolutions.
- I will implement network changes and requests.
- I will strengthen my existing capabilities through a mix of professional training, certifications, and experiences.
- I will prepare and deliver demonstrations of our toolsets to clients.
- I will build dashboards for SOC/NOC end users using current toolsets.
- I will utilize end-user experience monitoring tools.
Description
The role is office-based in Barrow in Furness and is expected to last for a duration of 6 months. The position will offer a rate of £400 per day, paid via PAYE through Umbrella only. Please note that periods will arise where monitoring devices require repair, replacement, and new builds, followed by deployment in the field.
