Requirements
Must:
- Demonstrable experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC).
- People management experience to help develop Analysts and lead their careers.
- Experience using Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk.
- Knowledge and experience with the Mitre Att&ck Framework.
- Solid understanding of client-server applications, multi-tier web applications, relational databases, firewalls, VPNs, and enterprise AntiVirus products.
- Good understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, WANs, LANs, and commonly used Internet protocols such as SMTP, HTTP, FTP, POP, LDAP.
- Eligibility for DV Clearance is required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, triage, and investigate security incidents on critical client infrastructure.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of network traffic, logs, and system events to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Provide line management and maintain a focus on team development.
- Maintain, improve, and develop the team's knowledge of SOC tools, security operations, and triage.
- Analyze and enhance detection rules and use cases in accordance with Mitre Att&ck and threat-informed defense principles.
- Maintain and update security incident documentation, including incident reports, analysis findings, and recommended mitigation strategies.
- Represent the SOC in partner meetings.
- Work shift hours from our office in Hemel Hempstead.
Description
We are excited to offer the position of SOC Shift Lead at our Hemel Hempstead site, with a shift pattern of 2 days from 6 AM to 6 PM, followed by 2 nights from 6 PM to 6 AM, and 4 days off. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in security operations and a passion for cybersecurity. It would be advantageous if you have experience in static malware analysis, programming/scripting (Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, C++), and relevant SOC certifications such as CREST Practitioner Intrusion Analyst/Blue Teams Level 1. The salary for this permanent role ranges from £58K to £65K, depending on experience. Please ensure you meet the security clearance requirements to apply.
