Requirements
Must:
- I am looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience as a Solutions Architect (or similar) who has worked closely with customers during the sales cycle.
- A background in technical pre-sales support for Managed WAN/LAN Services is essential, ideally with experience in Cisco, Extreme, or Fortinet technologies.
- I need proven expertise in bespoke solution design and documentation.
- A strong understanding of WAN technologies, such as Leased Lines, Carrier Ethernet, EFM, and xDSL, is necessary.
- Familiarity with LAN networks across data center, core, aggregation, and access layers is required.
- Up-to-date skills in Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and network virtualization are essential.
- Knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies, including CAPWAP, WPA, 802.1X, mesh, and controllers, is important.
- Strong communication skills are a must; you should be able to engage with people effectively and not just focus on technical jargon.
- A valid UK driving licence and the ability to pass BPSS and other clearance checks are required.
Responsibilities
- As our Solutions Architect, you will partner with Sales and Account teams to understand customer needs, attend meetings and reviews, and apply your technical expertise to help close deals.
- You will design tailored LAN and WAN solutions that fit seamlessly with our product offerings.
- Supporting customers throughout the process is vital, ensuring you provide clear, confident guidance without unnecessary jargon or complexity.
- You’ll produce professional documentation such as Statements of Work (SOWs), High-Level Designs (HLDs), and schematics that stand up to scrutiny.
- Collaborating across teams—Sales, Service Delivery, and Account Management—is crucial to winning new business, supporting renewals, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- You’ll track and manage activity in our CRM and contribute to a pipeline worth over £1m in Gross Margin each year.
- Your goal will be to optimize every solution, ensuring they are profitable, reliable, and built to deliver long-lasting value.
