Requirements
Must:
- I am looking for a registered nurse (NMC) or operating department practitioner (HCPC).
- I have experience or training in a theatre environment, specializing in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery.
- I understand infection control, manual handling, and patient safety principles.
- I can work under pressure, problem-solve, and respond quickly to changes in a dynamic environment.
- I possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- I pay attention to detail, accuracy, and am committed to safe surgical practice.
- I have previous orthopaedic experience, which is essential.
Responsibilities
- I will assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, anticipating surgeon needs, and ensuring equipment safety.
- I will support the anaesthetist in equipment preparation, patient monitoring, airway management, and positioning.
- I will provide post-operative care, monitoring vital signs, managing pain and nausea, and ensuring patient readiness for discharge.
- I will adhere to infection prevention and control policies and procedures at all times.
- I will set up operating theatres according to surgery type and specific patient requirements.
- I will check all surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use and report faults immediately.
- I will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve safe and efficient surgical lists.
- I will support and contribute to a positive, respectful, and efficient theatre environment.

I have an opportunity for a Theatre Practitioner to join our team at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor, part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare. This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The salary is up to £42,000.00 per year, depending on the level of experience, training, and qualification.
